About Me
Born, raised, and also married in the Bay Area, California, my husband and I moved to Redding, California so I could attend Simpson University where I received my Bachelors degree in psychology. While taking a break from school we expanded our family and had two girls. A few years later I returned to Simpson, but as an employee working with college students. It was my love of journeying with people that I knew it was time to return to school to complete my masters. I attended Portland Seminary, a part of George Fox University, where I received my Masters in Spiritual Formation with an emphasis in Spiritual Direction.

The time spent in Redding was filled with many forms of ministry. It was also, however, a time of a deep and dark wilderness for both my husband and I. But a wilderness very much orchestrated by God. Although it included intense suffering and deep sorrow, it’s the kind that comes when one is told the diagnosis of all their ailments from a doctor, and then treated for it. It was hard, dark, and scary, yet God was fully in it, moving in ways we can only see in hindsight. God never stopped guiding even though nothing made sense. That is the hope I want to offer others. Just because it looks hard, feels hard, or even impossible, there is always an invitation from the Lord. It may not be the most comfortable path (it often will not be), but it will be the most liberating.

After over 13 years in Redding, it was time to continue our journey in Colorado. If Redding was our wilderness, then our transition to Colorado would be entering our promised land to fight the giants. And fight we did… although it nearly killed us. But God was not only there in the fight, he was the one leading us through it to victory. All of this happening while working and raising a family.

I share all of that for a couple reasons. First, I am on a journey just as you are. Although I do believe in absolute truths, no two people have the same story. God has created each of us uniquely, and walks with each of us intimately. There is no formula, only relationship. Second, life is happening simultaneously. Meaning the things that are happening in our lives (relationships with others, jobs, ministry, illnesses, loss, grief… the list goes on and on) are often the very things that thrust us into these lands of chaos and confusion. But these are the very opportunities that can bring us straight to God’s presence, love, and glory, and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom! (2 Corinthians 3:17)

To be clear, I have been walking with Jesus since I was 5 years old when I accepted him as my Lord and Savior. I adhere to the statements of the Nicene Creed, which can be found here if you’d like to read through them.
Although I am a Christian, it is not a requirement for you to be. I simply want to disclose my perspective and where I am approaching our time together from.
